The Scarborough Over 55 Slo-pitch League

The league, was founded by Duane Richards in May 1998

and reached its 10 yr historical plateau in 2007 and is now fast approaching its 20th in 2017.

   Duane says:

"It all started with just a bunch of guys who wanted some extra

and perhaps a higher level of softball".

It grew from there and soon a 4 team league formed.

These same 4 teams exist today:

Scarborough Navy, Scarborough Reds, Markham Blue and the Sons-of-Beaches.

You can find team photos throughout these web pages.

Many of the orignal players came from the SSSPL day league and some our Sunday morning players still play in both league.

Duane Richards was the league's President for the first 11 years and through 2008 and 2009 he phased in

   Wayne Crowley for that position.

The league plays every Sunday morning from May through September and is a

men's league for those 55 yr and older.

Some of the team sponsors are:  "Debco Bag" and "Homes Publishing Group"

There are openings for more Sponsorship.

Sunday league loses an ICON member - Sept 2015

A fond “Fare-Thee-Well” goes out to Duane Richards.

Duane is the founding father of the Sunday league and commenced the games in May of 1998.

For the first 11 seasons he acted as President and Treasurer and now has retired at the 2015 season’s end.

Duane is still playing ball in the Tuesday-Thursday day league and I am sure still doing the Wed golfing.

Saying - A job well done, Duane, would not describe your years of toil and personal sacrifice given to the membership.

Thank You from all of us.

We will not forget you, ever.
