GETTING MARRIED IN THE CARIBBEAN

A growing number of Canadian couples are planning their weddings in the Caribbean.

With some of their close friends they find a beautiful white sandy beach looking out over the blue Caribbean Sea.

All of the major tourist islands have made it easy for Canadians to get married - you fill out some legal documents before hand, the service is arranged by the resort and on a warm afternoon you become man and wife.  Some resorts such as the celebrated SuperClub chain even provide a special wedding packages  - providing the set up for the wedding, the justice of the peace, a bouquet for the bride, a bottle of champagne and a wedding cake.

The idea of being married in the Caribbean appeals to couples considering a winter wedding.  The celebration becomes a major event when the bride, groom and guests head off from a cold, snowy Ontario to the warm lazy sun of the south.  Of all the weddings your guests attend, they won=t forget yours.

The idea of being married in the Caribbean appeals to couples who don=t want the hassle of a big wedding where there are lots of decisions around how many people from dad=s hunting club or mom=s women=s auxiliary to invite.  You invite your good friends and family to join you. Those who come on the holiday really want to be there with you.

The idea of being married in the Caribbean appeals to couples who want a nice wedding without all the hassle of renting the hall, dealing with the caterer, organizing the flowers and renting/buying formal attire.   The resorts such as SuperClubs are all-inclusive - meals, drinks, entertainment, sports and use of facilities.  After the wedding, you can be together in the restaurant then later join the entertainment for the evening - all right at your resort.

The idea of being married in the Caribbean appeals to couples who want to share the excitement of the occasion  with their friends - a week long party of celebration.

The first step in planning a Caribbean Wedding is to find a travel agent who has the knowledge, time and experience working with groups.
